Are Bengal cats hypoallergenic? Read this before reserving a kitten
“Hypoallergenic Bengal kitten” is an appealing search when you love cats but react to them. We would rather lose a sale than promise that your household will be symptom-free. A short coat, a beautiful photograph or another owner’s experience cannot provide that assurance.

A short coat is not an allergy guarantee
Cat allergens are not simply loose hairs. They include proteins associated with saliva and skin secretions. All cats produce allergens, and no cat breed can be promised to cause no allergic reaction. The American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology advises that studies have not established hypoallergenic cats.
Someone else feeling comfortable around their Bengal does not predict your reaction to a particular kitten. “Low shedding” and “safe for a person with cat allergy” are different claims. We do not advertise our Bengals as an allergy-safe solution.
Questions to answer before paying a deposit
- Who in the home reacts to cats, and has the allergy been evaluated by an appropriate healthcare professional?
- Is there a history of asthma or more serious reactions that changes the advice for your household?
- What is the clinician’s advice about bringing a cat into your home?
- Does everyone understand that a short meeting or handling a kitten does not guarantee long-term tolerance?
These questions belong before the emotional decision and before payment. Do not use a breeder’s reassurance in place of individual medical advice. We do not prescribe allergy treatment or offer a test visit as proof of compatibility.
Our visits and reservation policy
Because pregnant cats and unvaccinated kittens also live here, visits are possible by prior agreement only as an exception. Our home is not an allergy-testing facility. Please tell us about relevant household constraints before reserving.
Our deposit is non-refundable and may be transferred to another kitten or a future litter. A transfer does not resolve an allergy question. You can request the contract before payment and take time to discuss the decision with your clinician and household.
Keep the conversation honest
Tell us what you are looking for and what is already known about the allergy. We can describe the cat’s everyday life and explain our purchase process; we cannot guarantee a person’s medical response. Waiting or deciding against a kitten can be the more comfortable outcome for everyone.
